State Of The Munchkin: December 2011
by Andrew Hackard
December 5, 2011
It's been too long since I posted a Munchkin news roundup, so here goes:
- We sent Munchkin The Guild to print and Munchkin Conan to production. We also sent off another batch of reprints, proof that Munchkin is still a strong game after a decade!
- We've been playtesting Munchkin Zombies 3 and Munchkin Axe Cop 2 and have several other things lined up to playtest once the new year gets going.
- Phil announced Munchkin Skullkickers at New York Comic Con and Steve announced Munchkin Apocalypse at Hal-Con. Both of those are set for release in the second half of 2012. (And if the lesson you're learning is, "Don't skip conventions when SJ Games staff is attending," we won't argue . . . because we definitely haven't run out of things to announce!)
- Andrew's been working hard on Munchkin Quest 3. Right now, it looks like this may be an early 2013 release, because 2012 is getting pretty crowded.
- On a related note, we're already starting to plan 2013 releases!
- Sales of Munchkin Zombies and Munchkin Axe Cop continue to be strong . . . in fact, Zombies is scheduled for its third printing next summer!
- And we have lots of new Munchkin swag for you to buy, including the Zombie Chibithulhu, Fairy Dust Dice, and the Jolly Jumbo d6s. Good little munchkins should have very full stockings this year!
Our office, including Warehouse 23 and our customer service department, will be closed for our winter break starting on December 16. We're all taking December 15 as our end-of-year game day, so be sure to get those last-minute orders in early! We'll see everyone in 2012.
