Cheatin' For Charity

On December 12, John LaRoche and the MIBs from The Triangle, N.C., hosted a Munchkin Charity Tournament.

With seven players, and plenty of onlookers, the tournament raised $190 for the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation. The tournament featured a number of “Cheatin’ for Charity” rules, which players and non-players used (and abused!) during the game. The most munchkinly rule was “I’m Cheatin’ & I’m Not Even Playin’!”, which let non-players pay $5 to add monsters to the fight (this was a very popular rule).

All participants received bookmarks and promo cards. Runner-up Buck Holmes snagged a Cthulhu Dice Bag and +6 Bag o’ Munchkin d6. The tournament winner was Butch Arthur, who took home the coveted Utterly Unsinkable T-shirt, signed by Steve Jackson.

Thanks to all participants for their contributions to this worthy cause. And Merry Christmas, from all of us here in the Munchkin dungeon!
